In love with typography is my serial of typographic excellence at deviantART, simply my favorite typographic artworks.
This is Part #23, the next ten awesome works.
Artwork:
Just a typography thing i did one night.
Project for a class that ended in April... because I overachieve like mad sometimes.
Still Working with typo... and the shape... text from the song Always you by Sophie Zelmani

This is a current assignment I'm working on. We have to create a "Zine" or an independant publication but my format is an A3 poster. I still have to work through the concept but basically, I'm putting up the argument that young graphic designers today (students) are visually illiterate, especially when it comes to typography and that we don't know how to design from context (we copy and misappropriate works we've seen without any knowledge of the designs context.) I'm pointing the finger at the "ugly" design that emerged from the 90's and mashing this together with the modernist movement of the 1920s to see what I get. Trying to create "structured ugliness" thats the idea anyway.

I'm scared that you won't call me... even if you feel okay. You won't call me, because you just won't miss me. They know my name cause I told it to them/ But they don't know where and they don't know/ When its coming, oh when but its coming

Don't know what to write about it.
I was shocked this morning that one of my favorite photographers, here on deviantART, is gone.
David Le Beck better known as photoscot http://photoscot.deviantart.com/ died on 7/18/2012 ... and I did not catch it!
I had only online contact with him, primary to ask him to use some works, to remix it with typographic styles. Finally he was openmined for all I do with his stuff:
R.I.P. journal entries:

nachtaktiv 2012 completed
Finally I survied my last exhibition :D
nachtaktiv (nightactiv) 2012 - 4th Mönchengladbacher culture night
In the folder nachtaktiv 2012, you can see all the artworks of it.
Have fun
bye
